The annual “Heaven Sent Christmas Breakfast” outreach took place on December 23rd, 2023. Heaven Sent team members gathered to serve freshly cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, french toast sticks, potatoes, quiche, pastries, coffee, juice and more. Alongside the food, hygiene items, Bibles and shoes were handed out to over 150 men and women experiencing homelessness in the downtown community of Miami.
Here are testimonies from a few of our Heaven Sent volunteers:
“Today was such a blessing. I was in the beginning of the food line watching more and more people arrive. I thought we would run out of food. Eve and I both said God will provide and HE did as always like loaves and fish. There was plenty for everyone.” ~ Cindy
“We were cleaning up after the outreach and saw a pair of worn shoes sitting on the sidewalk. While debating whether or not to throw them away a man walked up to us and pointed to his new shoes while smiling. We knew then to throw them away and it was wonderful to see his smile and God at work. He was so happy to just get new shoes.” ~ Karen
“I saw there was so much prayer being done in this outreach. Christmas should not be about ourselves but being a gift to those who don’t get to experience Christmas or who don’t think they are worthy of getting anything. We were allowed to pray for some individuals who were feeling low in the spirit and through prayer lifted their spirits.” ~ Farah
And with that last testimony we are reminded of the verse Proverbs 16:24, “Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones.”
We are thankful for everyone who gathered for this outreach, our sponsors, prayer team, chefs, volunteers, supporters and the community. Our efforts will be continued on February 16, 2024.
