March 2024 Outreach

Our outreach for March was peaceful, despite facing some challenges due to a powerful storm that swept through Miami. Originally scheduled for 11am, our outreach had to be rescheduled to 4:30 pm. Upon our arrival, there was concern that our less fortunate friends may not be present at the Lot due to the rain altering our usual serving time. However, to our relief, some of them noticed us and began gathering, patiently waiting in line as we set up.

As we continued setting up, more and more of our friends joined the line. Our dedicated volunteers in honor of Easter, prepared a hearty meal consisting of brisket of beef, cornbread, sweet potatoes, turkey breast, macaroni & cheese, salad and dessert. Trader Joe’s in Pinecrest generously donated fruits, granola bars, and caned goods for us to distribute. Additionally, our generous and committed donor Amp Aero contributed hundreds of brand new hoodies to help keep our friends warm.

The young girls group from Holy Cross Church joined us for this outreach and lovingly put together thoughtful goodie bags filled with snacks and encouraging messages for our friends.

Let this experience serve as a reminder of the times when we may question if God is still with us during detours or obstacles in our lives. Let us reflect on the past moments when His presence was felt and acknowledge that He continues to be with us to this very day.

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
