For our October outreach, we had the privilege of serving and worshipping with the residents at Agape Network. Agape is a place that provides support to women and their children who have been incarcerated, are struggling with addiction, or are dealing with mental and emotional challenges. The mission of Agape Network is to restore individuals and families to psychological, social, physical and spiritual health. Our focus was on the spiritual health aspect.

We hosted a luncheon for the women at Agape, where our generous donor, Amp Aero, contributed devotional books, Bibles, hygiene supplies and hair accessories. These gifts were deeply appreciated by these women. We also held a raffle with prizes donated by our volunteers – praise be to God for their support!

During the event, we shared a message of encouragement about the love of Jesus Christ, reminding the women that they are no longer defined by their past, but are new creations in Him. After the message, we offered prayer to anyone who needed or wanted it. As worship music played, women began coming forward one by one. I heard cries of gratitude, whispers of “Thank you Jesus” and I remember feeling as if shackles were falling off of them. This was the power of God’s promises reaffirming within each and every presence.

To God be the glory for the healing and transformation that took place in that room! Please keep the residents and Agape in your prayers so that they may continue to be a beacon of hope to the women in this world who need it most.

Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her.
