This December, we had the privilege of hosting our annual Christmas outreach, “Love is the Light of Christmas.” It was an event filled with compassion, generosity, and a deep sense of community, reminding us all of the true spirit of the season.

For years we have been serving breakfast to our less fortunate friends, and this year was no different. The volunteers came together in abundance to prepare a warm and hearty breakfast. Some of our dedicated volunteers cooked up delicious meals, including eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, boiled eggs and oatmeal, while others brought in croissants, granola bars and breakfast beverages. It was a spread that not only nourished the body but also warmed the heart.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our donors. A special thank you goes out to Make It Tremble for the blankets, Krispy Kreme for the delicious doughnuts, TD Bank for the generous hygiene kits and Starbucks for the coffee that kept everyone refreshed. These contributions made such a difference and brought so much joy to our guests.

We also want to express our gratitude to Donovan and Tony, two incredible barbers who generously offered their services and cut hair for our friends. This simple act of kindness allowed many of them to start the new year with a fresh look and a renewed sense of dignity.

One of our guests, deeply touched by the event, shared that this was all because of God, and he expressed his gratitude for the compassion we showed them. He said, “I’ve never felt this loved and I am so thankful for all that you’ve done for us.”

As we reflect on this outreach, we are reminded of the power of love and compassion. Christmas is about more than just gifts and celebration. It’s about showing kindness, helping those in need, and coming together as a community. Through this event, we were able to shine a light in the lives of those who needed it most and we are so grateful to all who contributed to make that happen.

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success and to our less fortunate friends who remind us daily of the importance of generosity and love. We look forward to continuing this mission of service in the year ahead, spreading light wherever we go.

Merry Christmas and may the light of love continue to guide us all.
